You will benefit greatly from horses in that area.  Majority is roadless and it’s tough country.  I’d consider contacting a guide to at a minimum pack out the moose if you get one.  Cash in your pto for this, it could take you some time to find a bull.  We will be in 10-1 helping my buddy’s wife with her tag, that’s remote as well.  Best of luck!

Dang did you research that area first? Incredible country but I don’t think there is a single road or ATV trail in the unit. It’s non motorized as far as I know. Furthest I’ve ever packed a moose was a 1/4 mile and that was tough 😂 Best of luck and definitely keep us posted, would love to follow along on a thread.

Well then what are you asking us for lol, you’ve got everything covered for that area.  You should actually be able to effectively hunt that unit.

I'm a firm believer that you can never have too much information. Sometimes plan a and b don't work out. Thanks for the replies

Were you the one that hit me up on messenger? I might do a backpacking trip out there this weekend if I don’t have to be on stand by. Talked to some folks that have already been out there this year from the Kelly Trailhead. I’m thinking Schley Mtn won’t be accessible coming in from the Montana side until mid-late June.

How did the hunt go?

He was successful. drivers is a stand up guy and glad I was able to catch up with him after work one day.

I highly respect an individuals wishes not to post anything. It is truly beautiful country back there minus the brush and doesn’t need to be blown up.

Idk, if you come on a forum asking help and get some I would think he could follow-up.

Spent a total of 38 days in the unit, counting scouting and hunting. Saw 1 moose which I harvested. If you don't  have livestock don't even think about it. The brush is terrible, and the access is no joke. Beautiful country if you can get to a spot to see it.
