Wow. Thanks for posting.

Incredible bear. Well done!

Pretty freaking cool!

Did you try eating any of it? My cousin cook a small piece of the blackstrap and said it was terrible.

We hunted the 16-20th. We got the bear and flew back to the house that evening to shower and get good sleep :)

Pretty freaking cool!

We didn't eat any.  She was going to be happy with any bear that had a good hide. If she had shot a 3 or 4 yr old we would have tried some.  Everything about this bear look TOUGH...

Nice job.. what 06 ammo were u running, mainly bullet construction and weight.. also did the shots pass through?
She used Federal brand 180gr Copper bullets.  We recovered one of them on the backside shoulder against the hide.  They worked perfectly

Looks like a nice trip. I had my Kodiak bear made into a rug untrimmed incase I get the urge at some point to do a full mount. Would take up way too much room though.
Thats a good idea!  It's at D&C in Anchorage now, they will flesh and dry it.  We got ears/feet split and turned but fleshing that hide looked like a miserable job!
Awesome job!  Better be tying that one down  :chuckle:  :chuckle:
I agree!!!  She's amazing.  She's already volunteered to be a packer on my Sept moose hunt up there :)
