Well the mule deer have taken a hit in Montana how about the whitetail? I will be in Central Montana hunting elk mid September chasing deer also. Never got a whitetail before

I’m not sure about central, but the whitetails in the East took a real beating a couple years ago.

western montana has good mountain whitetail hunting. Its super fun to be in there during the rut
