Recommendations for Shocks for a 2010 F350 superduty?
« on: June 03, 2024, 01:36:21 PM »
Thinking I need to replace front and rear shocks on my F350.

I am unskilled and have never done this before but it looks pretty straightforward so I figured I would give it a go.

Truck Details
  - 2010 6.4 Diesel Super duty
  - Long bed, crew cap with canopy (if that matters, I suspect it does not)
  - The truck is stock, not lifted, etc.

Usage
  - I use it as my daily driver, but also tow loads up to 10K lbs from time to time.

Any recommendations on brand?  I have heard good things about Bilstein shocks.

I have used Billsteins on both of my superdutys.  I used the 4600’s, I did tow and some back country driving,  they worked great.  When you go to put them on make sure you everything lined up and are quick when you cut the strap.

KYB Monomax

What influenced you to pick that brand?

Good deal.  Thanks!

I've sold them for 17 years. They are top quality and they last a long time. Monomax is their mono tube heavier duty option. My customers put them on Rams, Super Duties and Duramax all the time. American Company with most of its manufacturing in USA, Japan and Mexico

I'm going to be an outlier here,  I'm sure, but I paid $106 for Amazon house brand shocks for my F250 and I'm happy as a clam.

A far as shocks go, they seem to do everything I need them to do.

I’m running bilstein 5100 on my 2012 f250 diesel and they are top quality. I’ve ran them on all of my diesels and never had an issue. My truck is hooked to a trailer or driving in the mountains 95% of the time

I see both 4600s and 5100s.  From the descriptions it sounds like the 5100s are for lifted trucks and 4600s are for stock?  Do I have that correct?

No they make 5100 for stock height. 5100 is a workhorse..
I've run them on all my HD trucks...

Technically the 5100 is for lift but they work on a stock truck as well

Another vote for the 5100's.
Great luck with them on my Jeep YJ and Ford F250.
