Electronic Torque wrenches

Love them?  Hate them?

Somehow I struggle to trust them but I am probably just old fashioned.

I've been using electric for 5 years now and I've never had a problem with them. Use them everyday at work.

What do you mean by electronic torque wrench?
Are you talking about a digital torque wrench that beeps at the set torque?

We use both at our work, click type  and electronic, just mainly mechanics preference as most are personally bought and supplied tools. I like the digital, at work there is a 3/4" drive snap on electronic torque wrench that I use daily. Has recall mode which is nice, shows under and over torque, plus has angle torque feature (IE torque value + degrees)


I also use a mac click type torque wrench, honestly depends on what I am working on



We also have dial torque wrenches, but those are mainly sitting on the shelf collecting dust.




I like em both. If you're personally shelling out the cash..... it all depends on your budget.

We went to the electronic Snap On torque wrenchs 10 or so years ago and the only thing we use the older manual style on is in the tire center. Love them as most of the new engines and transmissions are torque to x/lbs ft and then so many degrees.

Ya I didn’t think about engine stuff. They’re using the electronic ones on that stuff. I jumped right to wheels/tires.

I found a decent price on a click style that goes to 250 so I picked that up.  Don't know why I just trust something mechanical more than electronic.  I am old fashioned I guess.

Can't go wrong with the click type, that's all we used at Boeing back in the day. I have 4, 1/2, 3/8, and two 1/4 drives.

Boeing is fazing out old school and going to all digital/electronic torque wrenches!
I don’t have to worry about it anymore, Retired now

I am thinking down the road, 20 years, the mechanical clicks  will still be going,  digital and the such, more to go wrong, simple is easy

I have both, I always grab the clicker and my son always grabs digital.  It's what you are used to, they both do the same thing.  I have to break out the direction manual every time I tried the digital.  Bonus is I don't have to yell at the kid for not turning the digital back to zero before he puts it back in the tool box.
