Are these the ones with cam failures?

I'm not familiar with any "common" cam failures on any powerstrokes.
3-5 a day for ~20 days a month.
GM had some significant gas engine issues the last couple years maybe?

He didnt specify wich brand of 6.7 he was talking about, the 19up cummins do.

I bought a new ram because I didn't have powerstroke money....

I had an 06 5.9 manual before my new ram. My 3rd Gen was reliable as heck, but that darn front end was gonna bankrupt me, and did all my own work. Maybe that was the problem!

While I don't have any cross-section knowledge of 3G Rams, my buddy's '05 or '06 hasn't experienced front end issues.

I recall Gen2's were common for "death wobble", but mine (or his older '01) haven't had that issue.  Soon after I bought my '01 with 35K on the clock I took it to a frame and wheel shop to be aligned.  They cleaned up some weld splatter on the track bar mount. 

An extra brace for the steering box was a common "upgrade", but I haven't needed such.

I don't think anyone has said it's "required".  Just better by removing a fail point and some performance gains.

It's not real obvious to see when you're being passed,
and even harder to see from a rig parked on the shoulder of the freeway.

I nearly splurtched coffee out my nose when I read that.  That was funny AF!

Mine has 285k on the stock cp4, no issues. It’s far less of a problem than people lead you to believe. Of course when you look it up all you’re going to find is info about bad ones. Nobody gets online and talks about good ones. What’s the failure rate they say around 3%? That’s 97% good!

I researched the shiznit out of it before I bought mine and everything I read said you can drastically minimalize your chances of having a CP4 pump issue by running a few ounces of additive to the fuel and staying up on your fuel system maintenance.
