It's amazing how quick they learn survival skills. Had a lot of fawns give me a heart attack because they hold until you almost step on them. Neat video.

I remember my wife and I watching a couple bald eagles circling above a bench that was nothing but rock except for a small cut in the hill that had some taller brush and a few trees. We soon noticed a doe that would run full speed down hill about 50 or so yards, then enter some tall buck brush and thrash around. The eagles would follow. Then she would run cross hill and do the same thing, even acting like she was hurt. She would limp and lay down and repeat. After about 15 or so minutes she would work her way back to the cut and the brush only to start the ordeal over again. My wife put the spotting scope on the cut and seen the reason for the behavior, a fawn still with spots that she had tucked away. Pretty cool to watch how she worked those eagles to get them away from the fawn. One of those experiences you don’t forget.
