Colockum Archery Bull
« on: June 13, 2024, 02:54:22 PM »
My 26 point application was Selected for quality archery Colockum Sept 7-19! I’ve been on some good elk hunts in the past but my anticipation for this hunt is very high! Hunting screaming bulls with my bow is basically what consumes my thoughts most of the year and there isn’t many places in the nation I would rather have a tag for than this! This is extra motivation to ramp up my workouts, shooting, and calling . I’m going to lay it all out there and see if I can get it done on a nice Mature bull  8)

Your a lucky guy to have that tag. Soak up every single second of the excitement, preparation, and the hunt itself.
No question one of the best tags a hunter could ever ask for.

That tag is better than winning the lotto. You are in for a hunt of a life time. Don’t get caught up in score or anything like that and shoot a bull that excites you. O ya and the bugles are real you won’t be dreaming lol.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone
I should have some trail cam pics to share here in a few weeks! I put my hands on a 365”ish bull that was taken in there last year and have been seeing lots of pictures from guys from cams and harvested bulls… all I can say is WOW!

That is a dream tag that I hope to draw before I’m dead. I have seen some monsters in there and I would be holding out for a 350” or better bull. Good luck!

300” is a big bull and probably the biggest bull 90% of successful hunters in Washington are ever going to harvest.

Archery is tricky and a lot of things have to go right to harvest any animal.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I am looking forward to the inner struggles!! if I have the fortitude, 300” bulls are going to walk until the last day or so… but no guarantees if one comes in screaming his face off  :chuckle: Best case scenario I will get a chance to get a good look at a bull from a ways off so I have a chance to make a clear headed decision of if I want to try and take him. If a bull gets me excited he is in trouble, regardless of score but he’s gonna have to be a big nasty SOB!
