no whitetails so far.

I saw a huge 4 point this weekend on one of the islands South and East of the Crab Creek boat launch. I could not get a picture because I was on my jetski but he is going to be a giant.

One other thing I forgot to mention about the early archery season. Dove season starts on the same day your season starts. There is a lot of shooting going on and quite a bit of hunters. They did tell me when they would see bucks while they were shooting at those tiny little birds.

this comment should be deleted immediately as it's obviously not true as there are no big bucks in there and everyone with an early archery tag should definitely not bother hunting :chuckle: 8)

Lots of Rattlers?

I've never seen a rattler in the Desert unit. I would bet there are some on the southern border of the unit, as I've seen a few of them below the O'Sullivan dam.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

Just got back to the truck from one of the most unpleasant hikes I've ever done. 80° but had to put my puffy on because the mosquitos were so bad. Worse than any place I've ever been including Alaska!

 :puke:

I have been a few places this year already where the mosquitos were just relentless! I used up all my deet one time in the Indian Heaven Wilderness and the biting flies and mosquitos never stopped so my wife and I decided to turn back and get down where the mosquitos weren't so bad. It was awful!
