Elk hunters save your capes PLEASE!
« on: June 15, 2009, 09:02:18 PM »
Charlies Taxidermy NEEDS elk capes. I will do horn mount trades or credit and possibly cash. If you kill a bull and are not doing anything with it save the cape, cut it long and dont cut the throat.

Here is a link of how the bull needs to be skinned for a good cape. You can also just tube the legs out so you dont cut the armpitts.

Thanks in advance and keep me in mind!!

By the way, I need good 3 year old (rag 4s or 5s) or bigger. No Cow elk capes or spikes, thanks!

Thanks, Charlie (Charlies Taxidermy)

Man.. who wants to pack a big, heavy, stinky cape only to give it away?  :chuckle:

Will you come out and cape it on site? :chuckle: :chuckle:

Seeing as to how I'm such a pro at elk hunting, I can guaranty you a 100% possibility of 1 or 2 elk hides. :yike:
OK truth is I haven't even seen an elk the last three seasons and I've been out for the full season everyday.

I typically take 4 or 5 bulls per year across the west so I'd be happy to save...uh... :bs:

4 or 5 is that all? man you really need to apply your self more

What do you need to do to keep the capes fresh if one can't be taken out right away, say for 4 or 5 days?
