What head for spotter

Ok gents flame away.. I’ve never seriously used a spotting scope. Used other people’s but never my own. Now I have the problem that I need to judge dall sheep so I needed a spotter.  I picked up a maven CS 1 and a slik 824 tripod. Now I need a head too? What am I looking for when buying a head.

 I love my manfrotto 222. Target acquisition is quick and easy. You can pick one up on eBay these days pretty cheap! :twocents:

I went with a Manfrotto MV500 fluid head.  Really like it.  It has a fairly high payload rating (17lbs) so I can upsize scopes/cameras if I want to in the future.  The VA-5 has a lower payload rating at (6.6lbs) but is an excellent fluid head choice. Another option would be an Outdoorsman's tripod head.

The Sirui VA-5 has been great for me. Buddy bought one after using it he liked it so much.

Been hearing about people switching from it to the Tricer ball head, might be worth looking into.
