1x Muzzleloader Scope
« on: June 21, 2024, 06:04:09 PM »
With the new rule changes in Washington allowing 1x scopes on muzzleloaders I am starting to do my research. Does anyone know of a 1x scope that offers a custom turret for elevation or a quickly adjustable one? Thanks in advance.

One of these models has an MOA turret. This is what I ordered.

My buddy put one on his muzzleloader last a month or so ago and has been shooting it well.

I didn’t realize they’re allowing red dots too. Just read the updated regulations and they’re really throwing us a bone. Thanks for the recommendation.

I haven't messed around with red dots much. What kind of yardage would be realistic with a 1x red dot?

I sighted mine in at 150 and am minute of death out to 225. Gun is a rem 700 ultimate with a 250gr Barnes with 4x 50gr pellets.

I have had a few different red dots ranging from 1 to 5 dot that I attached to both rifle and handguns.
I have not had one in quite a few years, so there may be better options than the ones I had.
While the bigger dot will cover up 5" at 100 yards, you get used to how much it covers. On the ones I had there is kind of a visable fuzzy outer edge on the dot that cover a bit more. In bright light the 1 MIL dot could be hard to acquire quickly.
Mine all had good accuracy. I shot up to 200 yards.
I bought an thread on magnifier (1.5?) for one of them that also worked well.
Cuterebra are NOT cute!
