I drew for type 1 antelope.

It is definitely much harder to draw antelope. I've had at least one license since 2005 but this year required more luck. The license I drew this year was the same one I drew in 2020 as a second choice and now it requires luck to draw as a first choice. I didn't draw a type 6 license even though I applied in what was previously one of the easiest to draw units.  Until just a few years ago they didn't even sell out the leftovers.

I sure hope the herds rebound. The big winter a couple years ago was devastating.

Antelope and deer! Helps ease the pain of not drawing anything again in Washington.  20+ points for deer goat sheep and moose. 18 for elk

Will be interesting to see what the preference point pool was like after the special app price explosion. I have 7 antelope points and put in for a 100% draw at 7 last year. I didn't expect to draw as I figured normal point creep would take it to 8, but very curious what the final point pool looked liked.

No deer either, but did a random draw, low odds one.

My 5 points didn't cut it this year. I thought I would have about 50 percent chance. Be interesting to see if I really did or if some folks with higher points put in for my unit.

Wishing great huntin adventures to all those who drew!!

No Wyoming for me in the random.   Only Idaho left for this cowboy.

Struck out on a Type 1 deer permit with 7 points and failed to draw a once easy 2nd choice type 3 tag...Looks like I may have to keep that Palouse Whitetail tag this year after all, anyone have any helpful info for this Blacktail hunter? :chuckle:. Will be interesting to see what the draw odds were.

We struck out on a previously 8 point deer unit with 12 points, but drew a 6 point antelope unit with 6 points. Go figure

Good luck to you as well.  I have a 10 day combo WT/MD hunt booked the last 10 days in November in Alberta and a Late Palouse tag back home so I have a little hunting to do this fall.   I’d take another deee tag in Idaho, though.

where are you seeing the point jump for the draw.

Look at 2023 VS 2024 for the units you put in for. Nonresident preference.

I figured there would be some big point creep with people not wanting to pay an extra almost $1k for the special draw VS regular.

That same unit that jumped 3 for regular dropped by 4 for special. Was one of those units where it didn't pay off to put in for special. So they probably all piled into regular draw.

Looks like I would have drawn the Type 1 Deer if I had forked out the cash for Special :bash: I'm sure that won't be the case next year..

You never know about the special. On those low tag # hunts, It only takes a couple people jumping in, or jumping out to drastically change the points needed. There's a lq tag with very low tags that I drew in 2022 with 2 points, (not random)the year before it took like 9. This year it took 10 in the regular and 12 in the special 😂

Units I hunt didn’t change. Still 1 point for 100% odds lol

Didn’t put in this year though. Giving it a couple years for whitetail to rebound. Good thing since I drew a Washington whitetail tag in November .
