Steptoe Butte fly by
« on: June 23, 2024, 06:13:00 AM »
This is not hunting related, but I had to share. I was tipped off to this by social media. Two F35s flew up from Arizona for an air show at Fairchild AFB. Rumor has it one of the pilots was from the Palouse area and went to school at WSU. All I know it was worth the drive to experience a once in a life time event. These pilots circle the butte several times and we were treated to quite show.

 That is awesome!

Is that spot drivable to where you are looking down on the jets as they go by to take pics, or do you have to hike to it?

Yes, the butte has a road to the top and a small parking area. My wife was up there also and got some cool pics. Your basically at eye level with the planes and they made several rounds around the butte.

Thank you LDennis24 for posting the group picture. The whole time I was taking pictures of the planes I thought it would be neat if someone took a picture of us.

My wife Stephanie took them with her S23. That phone is pretty amazing to have when you don't have your camera in the car!
