New Rifle build, what's missing?
«

In process of building a small caliber "Fur Friendly" calling rifle, what am I missing?
Caliber 17 Remington
Rem 700 action
Trigger Tech Trigger
Replace Recoil Lug
Replace bolt shroud, firing pin, spring w/ GreTan
Change bolt release from trigger to left side of action
Rapace floor plate with Hawkins BDL style
Replace bolt knob with small tactical knob
Lilja Barrel 23" #2/3 w/light flutes
Peak Stock
Cerekote all metal Tungsten color
Paint stock multi colors (Gray, White, Black??)
Warne bases and rings
Replace the word Remington on left side of action with something to make rifle unique either word or design??
Action will be trued, pillar bedded, all the usual accuracy touches...
BUT, trying to see what else I'm missing...
Thanks in advance,

That is a lot of machining and work to a 700 action. Have you thought of selling it and getting an action like a lone peak, defiance, impact? You might be money ahead. And it would have all the features. Unless your 700 is sentimental to you.
I personally wouldnt true a factory action, just rebarrel it if i was using a factory action.
Also, Why the hawkins bdl floor plate if you have a factory one already? Hawkins is very nice stuff but the 700 factory ones are plenty serviceable.
Lastly, friends dont let friends cerakote their guns.
New and remade guns are the best! And it looks like you would have a goodn whatever way you go.

Buy a Ruger American Gen 2 in .204 Ruger and spent the rest on glass.
Or do all that and enjoy the uniqueness.

If you insist on using the 700 action, I would add an m16 style extractor.

Sounds like a nifty build, but a lot for a coyote gun to me. I beat the crap out of my varmint gun. Ruger American predator in .204 with a vortex diamondback tactical 6-24x50 ffp with some spray paint. I don’t feel bad about letting it bounce around in the truck and it’s proven effective on coyotes to 300 yards.

I’m not much of a custom gun builder, so no input on parts. If you’re thinking of painting the stock in black, white and gray maybe you could do a miniature Camo job in a WWI naval dazzle pattern. It’s a geometric pattern that’s pretty cool.

You're missing a suppressor.
