Hunted for three days this past weekend. Lots of fresh sign, and the size of this was surprising.

You know when it looks like a pop can that’s going to be a big bear! Hope you can catch up to it!

There was some really small scat nearby, so I’m thinking it’s a sow with cubs. Still would love to put eyes on it!

That would be one giant sow.

Wait, you found a baculum in your bear's skull?   Guess that gives new meaning to the term "peckerhead"  :chuckle:

Great looking bears. Congrats to you and your son.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Every father should remember that one day his children will follow his example instead of his advice.

Thank you all!
That was my second bear ever in life. I'm thinking about getting a second bear tag just in case an opportunity presents its self.

That bear was shot with a  .308 Accubond Trophy Grade and I was very glad to hit it right in the heart off hand at 70yds.

My 2023 bear was hit in the heart with a 300WM Accubond handload from 60yds. Both died in place. I'm not usually that good of a shot when it's go time.  When aiming I had a quick thought back to Bearpaw posting about bears needing a solid vital hit to go down quick. Again, I'm very glad I hit him right where it needed to be.

I never heard such a death moan before and would have liked to record that moment.
