Thank you all!
That was my second bear ever in life. I'm thinking about getting a second bear tag just in case an opportunity presents its self.

That bear was shot with a  .308 Accubond Trophy Grade and I was very glad to hit it right in the heart off hand at 70yds.

That’s pretty lucky. I have shot a bunch of
Bears in the heart none went any less then 40 yards.

My 2023 bear was hit in the heart with a 300WM Accubond handload from 60yds. Both died in place. I'm not usually that good of a shot when it's go time.  When aiming I had a quick thought back to Bearpaw posting about bears needing a solid vital hit to go down quick. Again, I'm very glad I hit him right where it needed to be.

I never heard such a death moan before and would have liked to record that moment.

Accubonds are some of my favorite bullets to hunt with.  Before switching some of my rifles to mono's....accubonds were pretty much the only bullet I would hunt with.  Never had an accubond fail me.

Well, the problem is that his room is starting to look like the Grim Reaper of bears lives there.

Based on your other posts, the Grip Reaper of bears does live there.

Well done, both of you.

We've spotted another bear on the property. I'm hoping that I'll have a chance(s) to get after it. First step is getting a second bear tag.

Thanks Okie.  I'll pass that along to him.  Might swell up his head a little though...  :chuckle: :chuckle:

Nice work Dana! I was awakened to a phone call of bear down this morning. Been on vacation. Nice way to get back into the groove.

The Missing Swede tagged one last week. 260 yards uphill right up the armpit. I had no idea he could shoot like that! :chuckle: NE corner. Good eater right there.
Just one more day

Mom goes out of town for one day and Dad turns around and gets them on a bear. Going to be a tough day to top. Some phenomenal folks up there helped me with my dilemma of trying to find the bear with a 1 and 4 year old in tow. Thank you Bret, Wyatt, and Alexis.

I'm still getting out in short spurts when I can. Yesterday I hit coastal WA but didn't see any sign.
