That is an awesome picture. What are those purple/pink plants in there?

Blueberries in their fall colors.

September 8th, young SW WA boar that I caught in a swamp bottom around midday. Quick 50-yard shot right down the front, "didn't go 20".

8 miles from the truck with my 9-year old in tow.  It was a good day.

Awesome job! Great memory with your son! Love seeing the success stories with our kids!
When I inevitably choke to death on gummy bears, I’d simply like it said that I was “killed by bears”, and leave it at that

Here is my 2024 contribution. Calling this the 50 mile bear because it was more about miles put in this time instead of just hours. The most interesting thing about this season for me on the west side was the berry crop. I was in a pretty extensive amount of real estate where the berries were virtually non-existent, while other large chunks of land had the best I've ever seen and they are still going strong even now. And it didn't seem to be an elevation or exposure difference, but rather just the difference in geography. Note to self; extend the contract with the bees to keep focusing their efforts on my favorite spots.

Everyone lives off the land.  Some of us simply have more fun doing it.

Ended my bear season yesterday evening. Stuck this brute at 20 yards. My heart sunk a little when I stopped him and he turned towards me with his front leg back. Made for a tricky shot and less then ideal angle but 466 gr arrow with magnum slick trick punched through and exited right infront of the hind leg. My second biggest bear weighing 274# gutted. Roughly 320# whole weight. Extremely pleased with our bear oil stash after shooting skinny big bears for years.

It did not touch bone. The shot looks more forward than it really was because its leg was back on the hit.
