Calling cats from Truck bed
« on: August 06, 2024, 01:14:25 PM »
I found a spot that looks primo for Cougars, however, there is no good location to bunker down and shoot from. For that reason, I am contemplating setting up in my truck bed which has a hard top canopy. So the question is, will a cougar be sketched out by a parked truck and decide not to investigate any further?

Given the high traffic of cougars on residential cams, I'm not thinking they would be bothered by this but dont feel like wasting my time

The one I shot last year would of walked down mainstreet in broad daylight.
I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

Better double check the regs

Yes. Sounds like a loaded firearm in a vehicle.

 :yeah:

And even then, they have tightened up the disability requirements allowing shooting from a vehicle.

If the loaded firearm is inside of a vehicle on private property, what then?

I cant sit in an old abandoned car with a loaded weapon?

You can get a DUI sleeping in the back of your car. You dont need to break the law to be forced into court, skirting around the edges of what is technically legal is a gamble that will be sorted out in court and not in the field.
What country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.

If your truck was sitting there turned off for long enough, one may come in. But as others have said, I don't believe this is legal. Not what you asked and you may not care, but figured I'd throw my 2 cents in. I'd go with a ground blind.

I don’t think so anymore.  At least not in Whatcom County.  But that’s another discussion.

You can absolutely be arrested for it. Whether or not you end up being convicted was not the point of my comment.
