Had that tag a long time ago but I still think there’s no scouting, show up at the gate early and pick a road. Used to be good, I’m sure there is still some nice bulls. Good luck.
I have Man Chit to do

The elk numbers out there are way down from what they were 5 years ago. I was out there 5 years ago with a buddie that had a deer tag....elk and bulls everywhere. I was also out there last year with a cow permit...I got the first cow taken but many ate their cow tags...and I know the watershed because I hauled logs out of there for 25 years. The guys hunting bulls struggled too..I saw 2 rag horns and I believe they got one more 6 pt. According to the patrolman the predators are having a major impact. With that said I believe this year you will get in there before the tribe and although it won't be a slam dunk she will have a much better chance then having a regular tag and the patrol guys will help you...Have a Great hunt...Les

 :yeah:

No scouting just show up before daylight check in at the gate and drive. Had a cow tag in there a few years ago and ate it because I could not get down there as much as I thought and then could not get after them fast enough when I did see them. Took my oldest son and we drove in several miles and had a young Cow cross the road and stand on the side of the road. Unfortunately my rifle was still in the case on the back seat of my crew cab. Laugh about it now but it was extremely frustrating to hear my son tell me dad it's walking away, as I fumble for shells to go after it. The patrol guys are very helpful and will give you pointers on where to look as well as how far in they have been seeing Elk. Good luck it is a fun tag!

You will get a packet in the mail with all the instructions and where to check in each day. Best of luck it is a fun place to hunt.

The guys that work out there will let you know where they've been seeing them. My daughter and I both got drawn and both shot bulls. Look up past posts for information...
