Hog hunts

Looking for some information on Hog hunts. Anyone have any recommendations.

Dos Plumas Hunting Ranch in Trent, TX.

Been there twice, Kenny and his wife manages the place, very nice people.

IF you decide to go to Dos Plumas, go there in the cooler months.  Late October through April.

You are going to find a lot of operations where you pay $300-500 to walk into a place where hogs are captured in traps from another location and let loose in high fence enclosures to be shot.

I was underwhelmed with Dos Plumas when I went in May of 2008.  That was 16 years ago so things might have changed.
-We saw very few pigs (I think I saw less than 10).  There are pigs there though - we just did not see them.
-Our Guides were pretty green and not too helpful.
-They did have nice fallow deer
-We did shoot a couple of "exotic goats" and that was interesting.

Pretty ranch though.

I ran into the (Head Guide/owner?) Running hogs with some pretty bada$$ dogs when I was scouting in SE OK a couple years ago. He uses a couple Border Collies with his hounds that are just plain beasts! I talked with him awhile, His properties straddle both sides of the Red River if I remember correctly.
He was working a hog depredation for Weyerhaeuser when I talked to him.
Mesquite Hollow Outfitters has a great reputation in the Hunting Oklahoma community.

That happens if you go there during hot months, even in October it is about 80 degrees. 
My friend and I went went there is September last year.  The pigs did not come out of hiding until about a few hours after sun set.  We can hear them, but can't see them.

Yep, that's them. They have access to some a lot of land and all the guides were top-notch. My hunt was in 2018, so it's been awhile, but had a great experience.

I’ve gone with Lockwood Hunting in N California a couple times. Had a great time & saw lots of pigs. I went in January to avoid the heat & saw way more critters than when I went w/ another outfitter closer to Redding in October. Last time I went I shot a nice pig & a huge boar on the first day.

I'll second the referral to Lockwood! Good family ran business & seen lots of pigs both times I've hunted with them. A buddy & his daughter also hunted with them with same results. First time my cousin & I hunted in October & killed first day.

If you want to spear or knife hogs in Northwest Texas he also does thermal hog hunts too for unlimited hogs $500 a day
