Getting Ready For Teal - Video
« on: September 01, 2024, 07:50:38 AM »
Our September teal season starts on the 14th in SE Louisiana. Video is some of the good shots over the years during the teal season.

We do not have an early teal season here but the shooting can be incredible in October. Large groups are very common on the coast and you need to be careful when shooting. Multiple birds per shot are common. I've dropped 5 before and have seen 7.

Would be good if you had the season but don't know how it works up there.  I do know teal are fun to shoot and I'm glad we get a change to hunt them early when they are here.

What states do have a separate teal season?
What country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.

We could have a teal season if we wanted to, but it would require taking days away from the regular season (since we are already at the 107 day maximum allowed by the Federal framework). Most believe the opportunity for early teal in WA doesn't justify taking away days in Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan when you could hunt teal along with everything else (and I agree).

I'd give up October for an early teal. Shooting is great but weather mostly sucks.

Would be nice to have an early teal season.  I try to pick them out when ever im hunting as I think they are a far better tasting duck!
Right wing shooter, I aim for the left!!!

Nowhere in your incoherent rambling did you come close to what can be considered a rational thought. Everyone is now dumber having heard it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

I think I still prefer having seasons where I can shoot teal AND other ducks. Especially on the west side where things are temperate and there are ducks around to be shot the whole time.

Now if there was a full early season in September where I get to chase some specklebellys before they blow through that may be a different story.

Good memories.

I grew up with some epic Teal hunting as a kid in Utah.
