Prepare time
« on: September 12, 2024, 05:53:34 PM »
Kinda late start for me this season but gettin things ready now. Busy salmon season kept the fowlin gear stored. I have learned that last year's decoys will never work unless I do touchup paint and tweak the rigging. Gotta be neatly stowed until the muddy chaos begins. Got a great crew of fellas this season with some new ones gonna learn the area. Panzer is losing the farm weight and gettin his legs stretched trying to avoid the pup who shows lots of promise. Looking forward to another banner season

I aquired some snow goose floaters, poured some J hook lights and made homemade rubber snubbed out of tire tube's. Aqired a killer sit atop kayak. Same kind my brother was crushing ducks with with his dog. Missed the early goose but excited about the season.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Salmon season! Made an investment to get into fishing since hearing good things and have not fished since the 90’s from shore.  Going to be hard to learn since never really knew anyone who fishes.

Vernita area is prolly loaded with boats if it is open. Great year to get back into it. Lotsa fish but won't last forever. Heck, read an article saying Orcas now struggle to eat the massively abundant salmon because of boat noise. Can't wait for that shutdown

Sounds like the killer whales are going to be extinct in the sound.  Out of only 70+ whales only about 10 females can breed.
