Most people that don't smoke much couldn't tell the difference but if you use your smoker a lot you can tell, especially when is comes to cleaning your smoker. Traeger pellets leave a greasy film all over the inside of the smoker after a few smokes. I have had pretty good luck with Bear Mountain as well but there is a difference if you smoke a lot of meat...
