How does the scam even work? If paid electronically or by check you can just ask your bank not to honor it and reverse the transaction. If people are paying cash for something before they receive it..... its an expensive way to learn a lesson but some of the responsibility sits on the victims to not be duped so easily.
If you read Ldennis link Shane auctioned off a “hunt of a lifetime “ on his Facebook page then after the winner “won” the auction he said bring a buddy at the same price. Doubled his money! Scammer big time
I read the post. This dude is scum no doubt about it, but being a bad guide and overcharging / deceiving people is not the same as taking the money and running. I’d never willingly associate myself with somebody like that, but so far nobody has pointed to a crime.
Purposely deceiving people is exactly like taking somebodys money and running. Maybe not legally speaking, but morally it still makes you scamming garbage. Selling somebody a fully guided hunt on thousands of acres and then parking them on your buddy's 20 acre piece next to his broken down cars to fend for themselves is as good as stealing.
Its a bummer that Burnworth continues to give this guy a platform, I'm sure plenty of people have booked with him based on that alone.
