« on: October 04, 2024, 04:25:50 PM »
14 days until her hunt starts!!! So excited to make more memories with her! It’ll be a quality hunt no matter what! Family, the experience, the hunt and the memories. Her quality elk hunt this last month was amazing… now bring on her deer hunt

Who’s in Moses lake that would like to hunt with my sister for a few days this next week? She could use the extra help if it’s available.

From my sisters page

This last week has been a dream. I stepped out of my comfort zone and put my boots to the ground. Since opening day I've explored about 30 miles on foot. First few days I had my brother with me, we came across bucks numerous times. Come Monday I was solo! I found a area that seemed promising, pushed through it a couple mornings. Jumped 9 bucks on Wednesday. Yesterday I decided to push through the opposite way. You know after that first hour of daylight you think your odds die down of the deer moving. I was around 2 miles of walking when I spotted 6 bucks laying down at about 340 yaTVrds. I decided to close in and ended up a lot closer than I expected. Came over a nob and ranged them at 91 yards. I could see them but they still didn't know I was there, so I sat down and took off my packs. I then started fighting myself trying to decide if I was going to shoot or not. At that point I could here stuff banging and looked over the bush in front of me and two of the bucks stood up and were fighting which made the biggest one in the group stand up broadside. I figured how could I pass on this perfect opportunity. BOOM, momma sealed the deal. Now I'm stuck lol I had to hike back out to retrieve my husband and boys. They joined me and hiked their little butts off super excited to see what mom shot. Waylon touched the deers balls and said they felt squishy. He  insisted on packing out the blasted heart. Walter dug around in the gut pile trying to find another heart. I went in hopeful and came out feeling like a *censored*. I'm so thankful my dad instilled this way of life in me, wish he was here!!

I'm 90% certain I do.  When I get some free time I'll sift through my videos.  It's daunting as I swear I have like 2GB of videos from this summer :chuckle:

Awesome buck !!
