Have some good memories driving up logging roads to scout with my gramps back in the day. Can't drive any of those same roads today.

Well it is a fact that the tribes have access to lands via motorized vehicles that the general public cannot even access on an electric bike. I'm not basing this on a second hand report. This is first hand on state land near Ashford that I had hiked into and run into tribal members driving the rds. We had a conversation and they told me they had access to pretty much everything in the area. There  is also a chunk of land near mineral managed by green diamond that the squaxin tribe has sole access to. It is frustrating to the general public to be denied access to these areas as well as being micromanaged by the state. Not much we can do unless we can convince the dnr to open all areas up to the general public so we all can enjoy the resources we pay for🤷
Totally agree with you.

Well… the Nisqually Tribe does own several thousand acres to turn north of the DNR land that isn’t a part of Hancock. So yeah, they are hunting Elbe Hills.

set TRUMP on them....but of course they'd just pay him off  :bash: and receive even more tribal hunting rights.

Last year a family member drew an ada access permit. While we were in the unit looking around prior to the season we talked with tribal cop who informed us that tribal members had keys to the same gates and their season had opened August 1st for elk. It’s pathetic that Wdfw has  a disabled access permit system and doesn’t mention any of it.

It’s pathetic that they market any of these as quality limited entry hunts. These are wide open unlimited hunts for many

So I  just recently learned but I'm trying to get confirmation i was told that the tribes regular modern firearm elk season ended the Sunday of the opener of early muzzle loader elk season. I was also told that they have the keys to open all gates that are locked to the regular public. This location im talking about is the Elbe hills just out side eatonville wa. Can anyone clarify if this is all true. I can't seem to find anything on the net. Concerned hunter
Yes, I don’t know what their season dates are, but they hunt road hunt behind some of those gates regularly during archery season.

One thing to note, as you ask about season dates and access of the "tribes", the tribes are individual nations managed independently of each other. Each tribe manages their own hunting in their own way, some are more liberal than others. Therefore to answer your question you would have to reach out to each individual tribe in the state and ask what there seasons/laws are for hunting, and how they obtain access to that area. I would assume there ares some similarities but the reason you can't get a straight answer is because each tribe is different.
