The first 20-gauge double I hunted with was this Stoeger S/S with fixed chokes. I shot a fair number of grouse with that shotgun, in Kittitas, Chelan and up in Okanogan County. Double triggers, pretty smooth triggers.
I use No. 6s almost exclusively in my shotguns. They've never let me down.

Stoeger makes a solid gun for a good price. I also have a Coach in 410 fixed chokes. And Longfowler with screw chokes. All good guns built like tanks.

I've had this old J Steven's springfield 20 gauge for years. I take it on a couple duck hunts when the weather is nice and it makes a great grouse gun. One of these days ill get a newer one to do all of my waterfowl and upland hunting with because I love hunting with side by sides.

Anybody have or try the Tristar side by sides? They appear very nice.

Appreciate the thread revival. I keep checking gunbroker every once in a while but haven't seen anything that made me say, "that's the one!".

Unfortunately, the Brownings and SKB's are out of my price range.

Rick at Garner's Sporting Goods in Pendleton spoke highly of the Tristars when I talked to him last year FWIW.
