Daughters first buck
« on: October 12, 2024, 10:24:11 PM »
Rylees first buck 2024! Super proud of her she made an excellent shot at 189 yards with the 6.5 PRC after we slipped into position of him feeding down the draw. We bumped this buck off his bed in the CRP this morning, but whitetails being whitetails, I figured he’d be close this evening. I was right! His buddy stayed put looking T him just long enough for my older daughter to miss right over his back. That would have been a lot of work. Hunting with kids is fun until you have to pack the entire thing out

Super cool! Great job to you both! I love seeing the kids have success!

Awesome! I love it.  I'd much rather be a part of my girls shooting a buck now than me pulling the trigger.

Really nice Whitetail!  Nice work family. How’d the girls choose who was shooter, rock paper scissors?🙂

Haha good question! Payton, my older daughter shot the last big game animal and also had an any deer tag for the unit. That made the decision to have Rylee shoot first easy, in case we couldn’t turn up another 3pt min buck we’d still have options.

Wow, that's a stomper whitetail!  Congrats to the young lady.  Hope you freed up some wall space for that shoulder mount!
I hear your comment about having to pack it out.  Saturday my youngest shot a buck two miles downhill from the truck.  We stopped for a break halfway back and while we stood there panting I told him "Buddy, I'm glad you shot this here when you were 17, and not when you were 10!"... :chuckle:
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
