Opening weekend 2nd year hunter

Hunted two full days starting before sunrise and ending before sunset. Didn’t see any deer. No does, no bucks, no fresh sign. Saw tons of elk. Including 3 branch bulls and 2 true spikes. Ended up leaving this trip a little early due to how hot it was and with no deer sightings at all. On the way out I bumped into other hunters and they all reported the same. No deer. Current plan is to try an area further north that I haven’t been to with hopes of finding a buck. I’ll get on my computer and post pictures later once I figure it out.
