Henry Axe .410 Bore: Hunting Legal?
« on: October 18, 2024, 05:51:39 PM »
Hey All,

Looking at picking up a Henry Axe in .410 Bore and am wondering if it would be legal to use for small game and turkey hunting in WA?

It is classified as a firearm, like the Mossberg Shockwave, so thinking that the fact that it isn't legally a shotgun could cause issues.

Thanks!

As long as you limit the magazine capacity to two I’d think it’s fine. I’m not sure why you say it’s not a shotgun, it’s designed to shoot shot shells, which makes it a shot gun in my mind.

Had to look it up, it's a short lever gun without a buttstock. Not practical for hunting IMO for what it's worth, might be OK for grouse.  :twocents:

Yeah, it's classified as a firearm and not a shotgun because it's barrel is under 18" but it's overall length is greater than 26"
