I Edged again
« on: October 31, 2024, 12:11:02 PM »
Bit the happy bullet again. Been wanting this rod for a while. Only two problems, one of course is the price. The other problem, I wanted a casting rod. Then they sent me a discount code. I couldn’t resist. I ended up pulling the trigger on a BWS StR 7111-1. If it’s half as fun as my other three Rods, oh my 😉🥃🇺🇸

Not sure if your thread title meets huntwa guidelines but that's not for me to decide.  :chuckle:

Anyways, cool looking rod handle.

Those rod handles are more than just cool looking. They are a carbon fiber wrap which acts as an amplifier to vibrations being sent through the rod. Traditional handle materials like foam and cork are dampeners that actually reduce the feeling of the rod overall. In don't own any Edge rods but I have a caught a fish on one and it is significantly different than other rods, even high end ones.
Fish hard, hunt harder!

Yes pman I have seen it. I got 45% off my rod. If I bought two or more, I’d get a free Edge hat, signed I believe.

Not a drifter. I’ve seen those being advertised on the Outdoor GPS with Owin. Pretty impressive. Did those come with a long wait time as the Rods deal or was it reasonable?

Yeah a really long wait.  Linger then the rods.  I ordered these and 3 rods (got the signed Gary Loomis hat) got the rods in about a month and the oars took about 5 months......lol.

Just got my edge in the mail last week and finally took it out yesterday. Love the rod couldn’t be happier with it!
That being said I ordered the rod mid July and it took till last week to get the rod. They make an outstanding product just don’t assume that you’ll get your rod in the 3-5 weeks that they promise on their website.

Looked up some dem Edge rods. Ouch$$$$. Can't justify replacing all the Griggs, Lamis, Fenwicks and cheapo trolling rods that work really well. What is it that makes em great? Never held one.

Spendy for sure. The rods I bought had 30-45% off. I got notice that their prices are going up. Due to material cost and shipping cost doubled. Their rods are liter, stronger, and flexible. This is my first yr with them. Could not be happier with the feel and action on these rods :twocents:
