Huntin Fool and Go Hunt type magazines
« on: November 03, 2024, 03:08:45 PM »
I am starting to build a decent amount of points in numerous western states. It may be time to start actually trying to draw tags. What is a good resource to subscribe to, that provides good accurate information on the different states and units?

I’ve used gohunt in the past & thought it was good. I’ll probably use it again next year to find areas for archery hunting here in North Dakota & start planning & getting points for Montana antelope.

Epic outdoors
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

Would probably use huntin fool or epic if I wanted to call and ask someone for advice. Gohunt for DIY research.

Been using goHunt for years. Like other guys said, it’s more of a DIY website. But its helped me out a lot. Would be nice to sometimes call and talk to someone as well.

For another option I would choose Epic Outdoors. Guys are top notch over there

:yeah: Epic becomes more valuable the more points you have. If you’re after big critters the epic guys have a pulse on the better trending units. Then if you draw they have a list of people that have hunted your unit that you can cold call. With all that said I’d take go hunt over them all. I’m currently subscribed to both

One thing to keep in mind is how big the subscriber base is for all these services.  You are not going to find any hidden gems in any of them.  The personal service might be worth it to some and they do give a decent high level overview of the various units and what to expect.
