Now littlebuff although that is a very fine rifle I have no desire to buy it but maybe I can give you some help on why you should not buy it.
1. It is an awesome weapon but living in Washington on the Wet side probably not a good idea to have wood out there.
2. Is it a need or a want?? A need then you have to have it a Want then you don't.
3. Your wife is out of town trusting you to be a good boy, you do something like this and the repurcussions are limitless.
a. Not allowed to play with the boys anymore
b. No new hunting gadgets for the next 5 years
c. A severe beat down from her with everything and anything that you can imagine.
d. So as you can see the choices are un-limited as to the purchase of that one rifle, only you can decide!!!
HAHA LMAO, if you got the cash then go get it!!!!!

this makes no seance to me at all, are you sure they just don't mean the same thing?

the difference is quite simple.
Need = holy &hit I fell down the mountain, my ONLY hi - power rifle went over the cliff edge and was smashed to lil iddy biddy pieces, now I NEED to go buy a new one so I can hunt and provide for my family.
Want = holy &hit I fell down the mountain, my ONLY hi - power rifle went over the cliff edge and was scratched all over whatever am I going to do?? Well it still shoots I can still provide for the family so to buy a different one is just a WANT because my other one got stratched!!!
Hope this helps you understand if not look at option C, that might steer you to make the right decision!!!!
LMAO

work of art or not, scratches just add character! it wouldn't be fair to that rifle to leave it in a safe!

That's a pretty rifle at a good price but I dont like the stock. The wood looks good but I dont like that design for a heavy kicker.
That cheek piece would hurt me shooting prone off my pack, especially if shooting up hill. The other thing I dont like about that stock is the grip, its too thick for my liking, and I really dont like that grip cap but that's just personal taste, or in my case probably lack of. On a rifle like a .338 I like a strait stock without a cheek piece and very little drop at the heel. I prefer the feel of a thin pistol grip area on pretty much everything.
There I gave reasons why I wouldn't buy that rifle.
BTW I love Saks actions and If I didn't just buy a new rifle a couple of weeks ago ( I'm broke) I would consider buying it.
