Being on federal land, I would have requested a little more than a fiat statement by a state guy, politely.

That isn't surprising. They have slowly been taking opportunity away from us. Now if they were homeless, they probably would be left alone. I find it sad how many family and friend hunting camps are no longer around due to the fees and locked gates. I used to enjoy seeing these large camps every year.

I can't think of the last time I even used an official campsite, and 3 of the last 7 nights have been spent out in random dispersed spots. Once you stop paying for camping you really never go back. It should be our good given right to camp on our land, public or otherwise.
