Spokane Lightning
« on: June 20, 2009, 03:17:12 PM »
We had a pretty good storm last night, so I got to practice taking some lightning photos.  Everything was off my back deck so nothing too interesting as far as landscape.  I'll find a better location next time.  Hope you like them.

Beautiful photos.

Do you mind if I copy 'em for a print out? (I wont sell 'em or otherwise profit).

Thanks for the comments everyone.  I am sure those of you to the west of Spokane really got to see some amazing things.  Probably rattled your windows pretty good.  By the time it got over my house in the valley it had let up quite a bit.  There were some really neat series that I missed. I set my camera up for 13 second exposures, and used the 2 second timer, so there were a lot of holes in my shooting.

Bean Counter, feel free to use a copy, or if the resolution isn't good enough, I can send you the full RAW file.

Great pics.  Lighting scares the crap out of me!

I always wonder where those big bolts are hitting.  Somewhere in town, and somewhere I don't want to be near.

Great stuff.  I've always wanted to do that kind of photography.

I figured you would have shot lightning before.  I guess if I was shooting the pom squad bikini photos I wouldn't be trying lightning off my deck.  It has been a lot of fun trying different things and techniques.
