Dreadi:  Do you know if suppressor applications are affected by this?

Might be wrong but don't thing suppressors go through the same process.  I think the go through local LE?

A copy goes to LE for notification but not for the background check. Feds do the background check through their systems.

Yeah that's right.  Just knew that local LE was involved somewhere in the process when I did mine.

In my opinion, the state patrol shouldn’t be the responsible review party on this.
We need more cops not paper pushers.

They need to go back to the old way of doing things.....Especially as it pertains to CCW permit holders.  If you have a CCW you should be able to walk out of the store....day of....with the purchased firearm, regardless of type.  I've already been through the background check....why waste resources and repeat checks, just doesn't make sense.

One of the reasons I got a CCW.  I think SAF should still go through with a law suit.  This is basically shut down the whole states court system for the last 2 weeks.  You figure this should have some pretty high security on it.  I am not a big black helicopter tin foil hat guy but this whole thing seems a bit fishy

They should go forward with the lawsuit to prevent something similar from happening again. If you sat in jail for 2 weeks because a software vulnerability stopped the courts from assigning you a lawyer you would have standing to sue for civil rights violations. You would probably be paid out for the inconvenience, but the proper remedy would be to force the government to do away with the reliance on a software system to assign lawyers.

Denying people their right to bear arms because a law required something that the state couldnt provide is a civil rights violation. It should be remedied the same way.
What country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.
