help choosing new bow
« on: June 20, 2009, 03:46:02 PM »
I have it narrowed down to pse brute lt 308 fps 8 1/8 inch brace height and diamond rock 318 fps  7 inch brace height I really like the look of the brute and that it has an 8 inch brace height but I guess I am really hung up on the speed.I know most of you understand the specs better than i do so is 10 fps really going to make that big of a difference? Any help will help me sleep better.I am going to cabelas and shoot them both. Thanks

10 FPS does not matter, the more important thing is wether you like the bow and it feels right for you. A wise old man that is long gone now ( Fred Bear) never worried about 10 FPS and he killed a whole heck of a lot of critters.

My wife shoots a bowtech tomcat, at 262 feet per second at 63 pounds, in 2007 at 18 yards she shot her first elk with it, she zipped right on through him. After the elk took off I went and found her arrow about 25 -35 feet beyond where the elk was standing. More important than the speed is the kinetic energy that you are delivering in my opinion. Like said you should not have any issues.
