I will 100% say they did their warranty good!
I am not a Vortex fan at all period. All my rifles have Nightforce glass ,both pair of my binocs are Leica ( range finder pair and and standard).
So I bought this spotting scope from a forum member used about 10 years ago - was their Razor HD model. It’s been on quite a few trips , been bouncing around in my range bag. Took it out after my last Montana hunt and it was almost falling in half. Sent it in to have it fixed - and they just sent back a new Razor HD spotting scope- their highest end model no questions asked

Only thing I ever bought was a window mount base for my spotter. Wasn’t impressed with that and never looked at another Vortex product. Makes me wonder though with that warranty.

I have a pair of Vultures from vortex. Never had any warranty done. But friends told me they would replace any of their products with a note on how it got broke. No question.

They did the same thing for me with a Viper spotting scope. Older discontinued model that fell apart. They replaced it with the newest model Viper without question.

I had a truck roll down a cliff years ago, I had a set of viper binos that flew out the back about halfway down and were smashed up pretty badly. A few weeks after collecting the pieces and getting the truck hauled out I sent the binos to Vortex and experienced the same thing, replaced with a brand new set with no questions asked.

There is not a better warranty out there.

Warranty or not.....would never trust a hunt to a vortex scope.  That said their binoculars and spotting scopes, should they break....when they break, will not ruin a hunt.  I still won't buy them for my hunts, but get why folks do....always heard the same thing when it comes to their warranty. 

Now....take that brand new spotter and sell it!!  Take the money and buy yourself a nice Swaro spotter.

I need to send a pair of Vulture 15's in...just not sure if they're broken enough to warrant replacement. One loose eyecup and the diopter has a huge "take up." Can't get the right and left barrels to focus properly.

I don't know why Vortex gets such a bad reputation.  I don't own a ton of their products but I do have a PST 6-24x50 that has been dialed up and back more times than most will EVER dial and has been flawless, it's been on top of the rifle that's killed quite a few blacktail and whitetail at distances from 40-600 yards and never had a single issue.  I've got a Razor spotting scope that has traveled in my pack and truck for the last 5 years and has spotted hundreds of deer from miles away and is still going as strong as day 1, and a pair of their inexpensive Stonerun binoculars that I bought for the girls that I will pick up if they're sitting next to my Leupold binoculars because they're that much clearer.  I haven't had to use their warranty yet, but I'm glad it's there IF I ever need it.  In my opinion, they make products at a reasonable price that will get the job done just fine.  If you're the guy going on a $10,000 hunt of a lifetime you probably don't have a Vortex scope on your custom $8,000 gun anyhow.  If you're a hunter who heads out for deer and elk once a season in the local woods, I'd be pretty confident in just about any Vortex rifle scope sitting on top of your Ruger American or Savage rifle.  Shoot straight y'all.

This isn't coming from me.  A buddy of mine runs a long range shooting school for civilian and military marksmen.  His observation over years of work.  He says when you get a good one, it's good.  But if it won't hold a zero, it's probably the scope, send it back...

Ya same here! Would not put one of their scopes on any of my rifles. That's probably exactly what I will do actually - anyone need a new in the box Razor HD 27-60x85 angled spotting scope

Best warranty is the one you don't have to use.

These threads always crack me up . Guys always stating " best warranty because you will need it " . Are all these comments 1st hand , or just regurgitating what they hear online ? . I have a few Vortex scopes ( not even the hi end ones )  that I beat the hell out of and have never used the warranty  . Also have quite a few Leupold scopes that get beat on , that I have needed to use the  warranty

I've owned two and both had to be sent back.  Maybe I got a couple bad ones....but that's a really bad track record.  I won't buy one of their rifle scopes ever again.  If I was given one, I would sell it w/out opening the box. 

I do currently have a couple of their red dots.....and haven't had any problem with them yet.

I had a Diamondback on a .300 win mag 10 years ago. Broke the reticle, I assume from the recoil. Not really sure I can blame the manufacturer if I put a cheap scope on a heavy recoiling rifle. The spotting scope issue pissed me off. Granted, not a super expensive spotter, but the Viper isn’t really cheap either. It somehow came apart in the middle. Sent it back, they fixed it and sent it back to me. Then it happened again in the middle of my mountain goat hunt.  I called them, sent it back and they had the newer model viper in my hands before the next weekend I went up looking for goats again. I’d buy Vortex again but probably only the Razor line. I think issues with the Razor stuff are a lot less than the cheaper stuff.
That said, I’m sure there’s a lot of Vortex smack talk in online/social media environments due to people reading other peoples’ accounts of their experiences. People buy the best they can afford. It’s not always Nightforce and Swarovski.

I had a 1-6 power viper on my 45-70 for a few years. A couple years ago I took it to the range before bear season to verify zero and after the first shot that day the scope instantly went blurry. The scope was still zeroed but I could hear something rattling around internally. I sent it back under warranty and they sent me a brand new one. Warranty process was very easy. But I decided not to put that scope back on the gun. I’ve had a few scope failures on me over the years with a few different brands so at this point I just didn’t trust putting it back on that rifle.

My son has a pst 6x24x50 on his .300WSM, not a problem one. Between the two of us we’ve put it through the paces with great results.

I bought 10x50 diamondback last year because my 8x42 Monarch Nikons got dropped and went out of focus. Didn’t have time to send them in, hunted the regular season with the Vortex, picked up the Nikons before my quality tag season and they had fixed themselves.

Well my 8x42 are better than the 10x50 at closer ranges, but at longer distances the 10x50 are better.

Not sure about Vortex scopes, but I've owned a Talon HD bino for ten years or more. Great glass, especially on low light. Never had an issue which required repair or replacement. But I know if I do something stupid, they'll take care of my mistake, no questions asked.
