Archery Deer late Nachez/Nile Dogs on Deer

While archery deer hunting Wednesday, my buddy and I ran into another hunter , he started telling us while in his tree stand  a doe came running by and behind it was three domestic dogs chasing the deer .
Later in the morning we spotted four does and a decent buck as we made a play on them , we heard what we where certain domestic dogs barking and baying, as we closed the distance between us and the deer ,here came three dogs , a Boston Terrier , German Shepard and one I have no idea What it was , the deer blew up and scattered , the three dogs went in the direction of two of the does barking and baying , we got to high ground and sure as heck they where running the two does!
I called and left a message with WDFW , but the question would be what's a hunter to do in this instance?
My hope is someone is missing some domestic dogs and they can PM me and we can meet and show them where they are hanging out , odds are slim on that because where we are hunting is pretty deep and I have a feeling someone dumped some dogs and they are just trying to live and adapt to there new life??

How far is the nearest house? I would start there and ask questions. If they have no idea and the next house has no idea then you are probably right that they were dumped. My buddies dad was turkey hunting one year and had himself buried in a slash pile calling. Well after about 30 mins he heard something breathing crazy and a doe came sprinting by. Seconds later another doe came running up looking confused on where to run to. Seconds after that 2 dogs came running up and he blasted them both without hesitation...    People have a responsibility to keep an eye on their dogs. Even if they live out in the country and don't have immediate neighbors.

There is no Game law that anyone could find that allows you to shoot dogs chasing WILD GAME. Game police could.

So SSS if that’s your choice.

Correct, you get caught, you’re facing animal cruelty charges. The law is specific, fish and wildlife officers can shoot the dog and that’s it.

I had this happen when I was a teenager on the lower Yakima river.  It was late winter and was just messing around with my .22. Doe dang near ran me over.  Right behind her was a pack of dogs.  Dont remember exactly how many I shot but it was like 5 or 6.  Didn't get them all but thinned the pack without regret or hesitation. They would have likely ran her to exhaustion and killed her.

I have the same issue on property in Mississippi. As much as I love dogs, any dogs running deer need to die. They will never stop after they kill the first one. Dogs are protected more than humans down there and it’s a slippery slope. Where I live in Idaho pretty much every one is on the same page that they need to die. Don’t let your dogs run free in winter or spring here

NO REASON to shoot the dogs other than stupidity unless they are wild... Catch them or report them. Unless there's deep snow they won't hurt the deer, especially since they are barking, the deer will actually stop and feed they'll get so far ahead of them. Dogs not barking are what add to the turmoil, hence the reason 'yotes and wolves do not bark while chasing. Shooting someones dog's a good way to get shot lol

I have the same issue on property in Mississippi. As much as I love dogs, any dogs running deer need to die. They will never stop after they kill the first one. Dogs are protected more than humans down there and it’s a slippery slope. Where I live in Idaho pretty much every one is on the same page that they need to die. Don’t let your dogs run free in winter or spring here

Dogs last year killed multiple deer in the Teton Valley here and my son has multiple videos of dogs killing deer on our property. He also witnessed 3 dogs chasing a doe and fawn this summer and he saw them kill the fawn then went after the doe

Post the videos for us. If there's not heavy snow and they are barking the deer wasn't healthy if they caught it. I have literally hunted hundreds of hours (3.5 month long deer seasons)with dogs and NEVER was a deer caught. We had beagles that would run about 30 minutes and return to the drop and we had walkers that would run all day and the deer were literally hours ahead of them. If it does happen it's RARE. May as well shoot hunters that wound an animal and shoot another instead of tagging out and calling it quits. Guarantee it happens 1000-1 dog kill

Shoot shove and shut up once a dog starts chasing game you’ll never break him of it. it’s no different than chasing livestock on a ranch. If you don’t want your dog shot tied up I just love everybody moves to the country and thinks they can turn their dog loose on their one acre piece and think that dog has fair roaming with a 500 acres around him..
