I was up there yesterday for recreation, saw gobs of deer (does and fawns).  Snow is crunchy right now, not easy for bow hunters, for sure.  Good luck to the late season archers!

There have been a couple nice deer taken out of the Swakane this year.  A few lucky archers always find a few bucks in there.....not like it used to be, but they are there.

It was open November 21-30, it’s closed now. We were fogged in almost all week and had terrible vehicle luck. Snow was deep and wet to begin the season. Day one we burned a tank of fuel to get to where we wanted to be. Only got to hunt the evening hunt. Snowed all night before day two. Broke both front axles on my new Zr2. When they broke they KO’d my ABS and stability control wires. Also wiped out the sway bar connectors but worst of all broke the drivers side strut which slammed the nose down on the front tire. Rode on the inner wheel well all the way down the hill until I could get to solid ground and jack it up and block it up. Had to get it towed home.

Stayed all week and saw a couple of deer taken.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

OUCH!   I had two flat tires in 30 minutes and the truck fell off the jack in the mud, and I thought I was having it rough.  My daughter said "I think God is trying to tell you to get off that road."   I'm not sure what he was trying to tell you.   :o
