One person buying 10 tags is more efficient than 10 people buying 1 tag.  Sure maybe all ten don’t drivevto idaho - but maybe they do.

All my Idaho spud buddies like the current system, because it allows a perfect reason for their family and friends to visit every year.

Not sure if there's a right "answer" or not ..
I think the only "fair " way to do it is to make everyone log in to their account online, one device, one purchase...
The in person purchase seems to be the most abused and most lucrative...I know guys that have become mules and buy for more than just their group...
It's also suspected, as witnessed by a friend, that clerk's first few purchases are for people not in line...I'm guessing a couple Benjamin's gets you that privilege...

Our group gets tags we want every year but we aren't hunting the popular spots.
I get the frustration of not getting a tag though...
And it sounds like there was a number of glitches so not sure how far people will take their grievances...
My online number froze for 15-20 minutes and actually increased a couple times... 🤔

It sounds like their is talk of change but 2025 billion got voted down and Nov 2026 is deadline for Study Recommendations meaning we have at least 2 more years of current system   I actually like current method but understand the frustration.

I get why people don't like it but personally I love it.  Current system ensures that every year I'm gonna have an ID tag in my pocket.  A draw.....not so much.  I've never bought in person either. Always online.

Not that I know of. Last year I took some notes as they popped up (you can see that) but I don’t know what I did with them and didn’t bother this year.

What an S show. Started out 42k deep, couldn’t get the same unit as my buddies. Had to settle for the next unit over. Makes group hunts very difficult to commit to. Next year I’ll just use air miles to fly over and buy for the group in person.

We don’t know for sure if it will change yet but we know for sure it won’t be next year.

add a non refundable 10 or 20 dollar application fee.... boom even more revenue.
as much as idaho residents HATE non resident hunters, like 60% or something of the departments revenue comes from non res sales.
when i first started hunting idaho i was buying my license and tag in like august without any issues

We would buy deer and elk tags in the summer and hunt the mid State back country late Sept. Then in Nov go North and buy a second deer tag and kill mountain whitetails...
