Great story and hunt! I'll have to check into that seeing as I have terminal liver cancer and was told 4years ago I have 2 years to live. I've been applying for the special hunts for years with zero luck.

Great bull and glad it all worked out for R.  Very sorry to hear about your friend, but glad you were able to help him out.  That is what friends do.  Great job.

Beautiful bull.  I'm sorry about your friend, but what a way to make the best of your time.

I'm so sorry to hear this. You should reach out on here. I'm sure folks would want to help you get an animal. I'd offer my services but I'm not much of an elk hunter!

Nice bull! I did the same thing for a friend of mine about 5 years ago. He didn't know about the program and when I told his son, who is a real hunting fanatic, they got the ball rolling. It would have been nice to do it the year before,  as he was in pretty rough shape by go time. I were all excited about going with him, as you have a 4 month stretch to get it done. Unfortunately, I had a detached retina twice that fall, and was not able to go. They got a decent bull, but it would have been nice if he was in better condition and I wish I was there too.

Thanks Teanaway Slayer for all the info, I never knew this program existed. I called yesterday and talked to Ashley who was very nice and accommodating. She sent me the application forms immediately which I'll have my Doctor fill out this coming week. She was even willing to rush it through for this year but seeing as there are only a few days left this year I hope to stay healthy enough to make it to this coming fall.
