I recently bought a large lot of magnum mallard shell decoys that didn't come with stakes.
Each decoy has three holes (side/side/top) so I assume the OG stakes were a "T" of some sort. I think I want to replace the stakes for a couple of reasons.
The shells are all stacked in groups of 6 right now, and they are cupping badly. I will be splaying the stacks open hoping to get the shape back. But I also want the movement that the stakes provide vs placing on the ground.

Does anyone have a picture of the OG stakes? A link to replacement stakes? Or even a picture of your DIY solution!
Thanks in advance!!

If the hole is on the back I think I would just use thin doweling sharpened on both ends. Put in the ground and set decoy on top with tip going through the hole. Think of a circus guy balancing a tray on a stick. You might need to modify the hole a bit. I think if done right you would get some nice movement with a breeze. Or....that might not work at all but worth a shot  :dunno: Might need to play with the doweling size, location of the hole and what not. Sounds like a fun "Problem" to try some different ideas with.
Let us know what you come up with...post pictures if possible.
Good luck,

I may have a couple dozen stakes. They will not balance on the single stake. You need the "t" ones. PM me.
