Halibut fishing
« on: February 03, 2025, 07:22:49 AM »
We are now booking for the up coming halibut season.  The wdfg has given us the same favorable fishing schedule as last year. Below is the halibut fishing dates for the marine areas 3 and 4, which is where we fish.  We have moorage in LA Push for the halibut season.

Hunt Washington trip will be June 6th for those interested.  Price for this trip is $400 per person, inludes tax.  I will honor the price for any member that books a private charter also.  We would need a minimum of 5 people, for either the hunt Washington trip or a private charter to be a go.

May 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday),
May 23, 24, 25 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday - Memorial Day weekend),
May 29, 30, 31 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday),
June 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

Do you run electric reels for this trip?

Is this also a bottom fish trip? Sea bass king cod limits? Or those are just a bonus?

We catch more ling cod in a day then halibut.  We fish for sea bass if there's time at the end of the day.  Sea bass fishing usually depends on the fisherman, and if there trying to head home after fishing.  We have no problem staying out and catch limits of sea bass.

Hey everyone, my son and I  did this trip last year and they worked their buts off.  Lots of fish, I'm recovering from  back surgery so I  have to pass but would HIGHLY recommend this skipper and crew.  Don't miss out!!!

We had a great opener.  We fished Thursday and Friday.  On Thursday we limited the boat on halibut with one around 40lbs.  Fridays group was less picky about size due to the weather forecast calling for wind and increasing swell in the afternoon.  None the less they still got there, halibut and lings with ease.  Both days we caught between 20-30 halibut and too many lingcod to count.

How many people are gonna be fishing on this trip ? The date doesn’t work that well for me, but I might try and make it work as it sounds maybe more appealing than being on a big charter boat out of Westport. I enjoy being around like minded people. Thanks!
