You guys have it all wrong.
The criminals in the State will start obeying the laws because of these new laws! Crime will go down! People will stop drinking and driving! People will stop driving distracted and will put their phones down! Everyone will become responsible! The extra taxes you will pay will put more money in your pockets!
I can't believe some on this site are SOOOOOO short sighted. Give the 'progressive thinkers' a chance. They only JUST got in charge of the State, and have never had a chance to really show what they can do.

The bummer is so many of the 'progressives' are fleeing the States they have progressively ruined (including this one) that they are infecting other States and are working hard, by voting in crap, to ruin them as well.
Cuterebra are NOT cute!

Some additional details from a Seattle Times article today. I wasn't aware of the live-fire requirement.

The measure, sponsored by Rep. Liz Berry, D-Seattle, along with a host of other Democratic House lawmakers, would require gun buyers to apply for a five-year permit by submitting fingerprints through a local law enforcement agency in the jurisdiction where they live. It would require a certificate of completion of a certified firearm safety course in the previous five years, or proof that applicants are exempt from taking the course. Fees and completed applications must also be submitted in order to apply for the permit, which must be renewed every five years.

Certified firearm training programs must also include live-fire exercises and demonstration by applicants that they can safely handle firearms, as well as the firing of a minimum of 50 rounds. Training can be sponsored by federal, state, tribal, county or municipal law enforcement agencies; colleges or universities; nationally recognized organizations that offer firearms training; or a firearms training school with certified instructors.
Going to hurt for the guys buying unbraked super magnums.

This thing should get ruled unconstitutional before it even gets up and going so it's just virtual signaling..

In the meantime better go buy all the ammo you need before July... friendly reminder.

The guns you want so far.

I had no idea I'd want a SXS a few years ago. And I wish I'd bought at least 4 lowers instead of 2.
