R.I.P. Jim Cowan
« on: February 12, 2025, 08:07:08 PM »

I forgot to post this here.

Jim Cowan long time life member of WSTA passed away February 2, 2005
Jim lost his wife a few months back and now he is gone.
Jim was 93 years young.

One hell of a trapper.
There will be a write up on him in the upcoming Fur Shed magazine.

I'm pretty sure that Jim is up there with the other trappers that have passed.
I just hope those boys save some wildlife for us.

Jim will be missed by all that knew him
Rest in Pease my Friend. Until you see one another again.
Happy Trails
JC

Jim was a great guy and talented too. Everybody knew him in Aberdeen as the guy that picked up swarms of bees.
He showed me a newspaper clipping of him on the lift of a firetruck retrieving a swarm off of a stoplight over the middle of the street. Trapper, beekeeper and he made violins, mandolins. A simple shop project seemed too mundane, I guess. Gonna miss him but he wanted to be with Barb and now he is back with her.

Sorry for the mistake ~ Jim passed away Feb 2nd, "2025"

What kind of a guy was Jim?
He married Barbra and she had I believe 5-6 siblings someone quote me if I am wrong on that number of siblings.

Anyway, they weren't married very long when her mom and dad were killed in a car accident with nobody to take care of those kids, Jim took on the reasonability to take them and raise them to adult age. That my friends, is a great person.
