It's in an area a few years back I was archery elk hunting.  I had one walk within 30 feet of me.  Just stopped and stared at me.  Kind of freaked me out as they are bigger than I expected and it wasn't afraid of me, slowly walked off.

That's pretty cool. I was hunting in Alaska one time and had a similar experience. One appeared about 25 yards next to me in a little opening, it rolled around in the dirt and cleaned itself and basically just enjoyed the sunlight for about 30 minutes. Then just walked off into the woods. I too was a bit surprised at the size.

As someone who’s caught a couple dozen bobcats and at least 50 lynx, everything inside me screamed lynx, it wasn’t just the ruffs on the ears but the white scruff under the chin. Pretty awesome!
