Do I contrast the photo?
I am trying to enhance the pattern. Do I use a darker background? Camera angle? Light source?
Thanks

I am by no means a camera guy, but since no one else is throwing anything out.  How about trying a nonreflective background and a soft constand light vice a flash.  Don't know if it will do anything but might be worth a try.
Of all the branches of men in the forces there is none which shows more devotion and faces grimmer perils than the submariners."

Sir Winston Churchill
