I was eyeballing that eagle claw earlier tonight, though I doubt I'd use the fly portion, as I dont use my current fly rods but every other year. Still like the idea though!

The diawa setup is slick, im buying 1 for myself, and 1 for a friend's birthday. These might be the easy button.

Just get an ultralight Walmart ugly stick and pack a roll of electrical tape to tape the ends tightly together while hiking, invest in a high quality reel double the size recommended for the rod and run braided line twice the rods recommended weight

What im saying is run an ultralight rod with a medium weight reel and braided line that’s a fraction the diameter of mono so it will cast further, you got twice or thrice as much line and a drag system to handle bigger fish

Never buy a rod you aren’t willing to break or beat up, the reel is where you put your money
